WORKSHOP: ARTIST’S JOURNAL
by Mary Jo Wasco

DATE: Sunday, October 5, 2008
TIME: 10 AM – 4 PM
PLACE: 227 Margaret Morrison, CMU
FEE: $25 for guild members
Every page is a painting in this artist’s journal. We will use a variety of simple water color techniques to create large painted sheets and then tear/cut the sheets into sections to create signatures and sew them into
a journal using a French twist style open binding with soft covers. This journal will provide an inviting setting for your words, thoughts and art ideas. Some embellishment ideas will be presented with which you may enhance the pages of your journal – windows or flaps, collage, stamping, faux -gilding, weaving, etc.
Many of the techniques for creating this journal were presented in Jean Formo’s class, “French Lace Journal”, at the Letters Mingle Souls conference in Chicago this summer.
